How To Determine The Weight Of A Clocks Pendulum

Many a time I have asked this question. There is a math formula out there that you will spend a couple of hours to figure out (counting gears and teeth on gears too) that will help you come to some sort of answer. Or you could go with a good old timers tip on how to determine the weight of a clocks pendulum and that is it really does not matter, just use a pendulum bob in the 2-3 oz range and you will be good 90% of the time (this is true!). Remember the weight of the pendulum bob is only responsible to rock the crutch and pallet back in forth. If you lengthen or shorten it that will effect it running fast or slow.
