David Bruner created the topic: Seiko mantle clock decorative movement fix
We have a Seiko mantle clock. My wife picked it up at a thrift store. The clock works but the lower decorative spinning thingie has a broke movement.
Took it apart to get the numbers off the movement:
Probably the replacement is out of production. Seiko won't sell me the part or comparable replacement--they don't sell parts.
Precision Clock Repair estimated the fix at $180 because their only source of parts are collectors who get the big bucks.
Any ideas as to DIY repair or any way to get it fixed???
Could I get a non-Seiko $10 movement & do a red-neck repair with JBWeld?
Thank you so much, David
